Product Updates as of March 2023

-We have made a series of changes to our website to reflect changes in our product offerings. We are always evolving our products to provide the best user experience, while maintaining the best equipment quality we can offer at the most affordable pricing we can offer. There have been many price increases across our offerings, as we have to counter the rise in our costs of staying in business.

A quick outline of some of the biggest changes:​

Annealers:
  • We have switched to TAP controllers for all of our ovens. We have found these to be intuitive to use with a touch screen interface, quite reliable and can be wi-fi enabled to use with a smart device app! You can peruse all the features on their website. 
  • The Small and Standard Top Loaders, as well as the Stackable Front Loader still use a stand alone controller configuration (built in -house) while the Medium, Large and Extra Large have a built in controller.
Furnaces:
  • Crucible options for Dragons: It is no problem to have different size pots in different models.
    • We have been verbally offering this for years now, but it is finally up on the individual Furnace pages. 
  • Burner Options: We have revised our burner system options for different models to maximize performance based on the various designs. We have also upgraded to higher quality components for increased reliability.
    • With Auto Control systems, we will be using a nozzle mix burner for greater flame control, it is the Phoenix VH015 by Algas-SDI (equivalent to the Eclipse Thermjet TJ015). This is best used in a side-fire configuration. 
      • Dragon Furnaces: We are no longer offering an Auto Control option on the Dragons. You can still get Proof of Flame or Comprehensive safeties. 
      • Phoenix Furnaces: Auto Control will be available only on the Phoenix furnaces in the following configurations: Proof of Flame with Auto Control, and Comprehensive with Auto Control.
    • With Comprehensive Safeties, we are changing to Dungs components for solenoids, gas and air pressure switches and regulators.

Furnace, Glory Hole & Pipe Warmer all in a single unit, designed to be portable & easy to move around your shop, or the country. Accessory Ports allow for additional equipment to be attached & operate from the furnace heat, including annealing options, hot box/garage for pick ups, cane warmer, hot plate, baking oven, or anything else you can dream up!

There are now over 200 of our glass blowing furnaces in operation around the country & world. Our owners range from absolute beginners to accomplished professionals. Dragon and Phoenix furnaces can be found in public access studios, private studios, high schools, colleges, art centers, summer camps, garages & backyards. They are being used in youth out-reach programs, on-site demonstrations, as back-up furnaces (additional to a standing studio or for when the big ones break down), for hands-on & walk in workshops, as well as production and prototyping.
